If you know me, you probably know that I’m obsessed with National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. So, of course, that’s the sweater I chose to review. When I opened the package, I squealed for a second time and immediately shared a pic with my friends. I’m no stranger to ugly Christmas sweaters, but this one is fabulous. Typically, I hit my favorite thrift store to pick out that extra ugly top for our holiday parties, but they are always so uncomfortable. They itch and never fit quite right. I can’t wait to get home and change. This sweater is exactly the opposite of that. It isn’t too heavy, feels great against my skin (no underlayer necessary!), and actually flatters my curves. And it’s Christmas Vacation, so it earns extra cool points for that. So many funny moments of the movie are represented in this sweater. From Cousin Eddie’s RV to the Jelly of the Month club, this sweater has it all. This will get worn a lot this holiday season (Black Friday, Breakfast with Santa, etc) – it will definitely go beyond the usual holiday party! I’m typically an 8/medium, and I ordered the men’s medium. It fits well, and the length is great.
The folks over at UglyChristmasSweater.com want to give one of my lucky readers their very own ugly sweater for the holidays. Just enter via Rafflecopter below. Entries will be verified, so please play nice! Giveaway ends 11/26.
It’s an easy eco-friendly way to buy and sell clothing via your phone. I signed up in June 2016 and am still addicted. It’s great for finding gently used or even new clothing at a fraction of the retail price. But my favorite way to use it is for selling. We already know that I’m a shopaholic, so it’s great to make some cash off of my gently used items!
Poshmark is really user friendly, and you can sell directly from your phone. All you need to do is snap a picture, add a description, and hit list. That’s it! Poshmark does take a fee (20% of the selling price or $2.95 for any sale under $15), but to me it’s well worth it. Why? Because Poshmark immediately sends you a shipping label via e-mail. You don’t have to wait for the buyer to pay you and go to the post office to purchase postage. It saves a lot of time and hassle.
Use code HUFFYCHIC when you sign up to get $5 off your first purchase!
Check out my closet! I have over 400 active listings in a wide variety of sizes and styles, so hop on over and take a look!
The Shop Gal is taking a little spring break this week. Next week, I’ll be back with a special theme week. Here’s a little hint…
Until then, be sure to follow me on Facebook and Instagram to see what I’m loving and wearing this week. You can also find me on Pinterest where I share fun outfit ideas and links to everything I want to add to my closet (when I win the lottery.)
The Shop Gal is taking a winter break, but I’ll be back with more fun shops starting January 16! Be sure to follow me on Facebook and Instagram for sales, outfit posts, and random stuff that pops in my brain.
I started this blog to chronicle my love of fashion & shopping, as well as to share my unique online finds. My goal is to introduce you (and myself) to new online boutiques, Etsy shops, and bloggers from all over the country. Each week I will “travel” to a different state via the internet and profile a new shop. I’ll also share my favorite picks at larger retailers as well as coupons & discounts! This will be a fun journey (and it might be bad for my wallet). Either way, thanks for joining the ride!
