I am so excited to feature TAG Online Boutique on the blog today! I discovered TAG via a Stitch Fix Facebook group, and now my closet is filled with TAG goodies. The owner, Julie Knight, has amazing customer service. She is truly one of the nicest people I’ve worked with in a long time! Just check out the TAG Reveals & Deals Facebook Group and you’ll see why. Julie is a very active member of this group where members style their TAG pieces, answer questions on fit, and receive special discounts and flash sales. I asked Julie about sizing on every single piece I’ve ordered, and she replied quickly every single time. Julie really knows her inventory and loves to help her customers. She’s willing to measure clothing, try things on, and post real life photos in the group. In short, she is amazing and keeps customers coming back for more!
I asked Julie about her favorite part of running an online boutique. It’s no surprise that her answer is working with customers. She loves knowing that her customers love the items and feel great in them. And of course she loves the shopping part! Julie says she gets a lot of inspiration from Stitch Fix, which helped her to break out of a style rut. TAG carries some of the same brands and styles you will find in Stitch Fix boxes at a lower price.
What’s the most challenging part of the business? Julie admits that it’s finding the time to get everything done. Did I mention that Julie works full-time, has a husband & 3 kids, and volunteers? She’s a busy lady! Another challenge is finding inventory that’s right for TAG customers. Orders typically come in packs of six items (2 small, 2 medium, 2 large), and wholesalers don’t take returns. Julie says her biggest fear is ordering from a brand she’s unfamiliar with and receiving items that are junior sized. All of the items Julie sells have to pass her inspection. All inventory is shipped directly to her (she doesn’t drop ship), so has “full control over seeing the quality, the ability to try it on and assess if it’s true to size, and to be able to accurately answer customer questions.”
Julie credits her sister-in-law, Wendy, for inspiring her to open her own boutique. Wendy owns a cute accessories boutique named Lemons & Limes, so be sure to stop by her website as well. For more of Julie’s story, check out her About Us page on her website.
And now for the part you’ve all been waiting for…..
