Art and Fawn is filled with hand painted art that is turned into beautiful jewelry. After finding a piece of signed hand painted jewelry that belonged to her grandmother, shop owner Lindsey’s DIY spirit led her to begin making her own hand painted creations. Lindsey has a love of nature that shows in her work. Inside the shop you will find necklaces, rings, and earrings that depict Lindsey’s fondness of flowers and animals. Her job as a graphic designer constantly gives her new ideas that she lovingly translates into this one-of-a-kind jewelry. Each piece is sealed, ensuring that it will stay looking great. What is the story behind your shop’s name?
The “Art” part of the name comes from the fact that all of my jewelry is hand painted, so they are like little pieces of wearable art. The “Fawn” part of the name represents the fact that my jewelry is nature-inspired and uses a lot of animal and woodland designs.
What inspires your designs?
Most of my jewelry designs are inspired by nature in some shape or form. I’ve always been a huge animal lover and plant lover, and I think that really shows in my jewelry designs.
How did you get started selling on Etsy?
In the beginning, I knew right away that I wanted to sell my jewelry and for this to be a business and not just a hobby. Selling on Etsy just seemed to make sense for my business. They already had a large customer base of people that were looking for unique, handmade products, which seemed like the perfect fit for my jewelry. I do have my own website now (www.artandfawn.com) in addition to my Etsy shop, but most of my online orders still come from Etsy. When I opened up my shop in 2013, I only had 4 necklaces I was selling. Now I have over 90 products including necklaces, rings, and earrings!
What is your favorite piece?
It’s really hard to pick just one, but I’d have to say my chickadee necklace. They are my favorite bird and whenever I hear them sing, my mood gets a little brighter.
